French historians in January 2023 completed a report on France’s history and involvement in intercountry adoption, finding decades-long evidence of illicit practices, fraud, and child trafficking from multiple countries. We link to the English translation here to make it more widely known and available.
The report is in French and English and runs more than 150 pages, including a substantial bibliography and a database of media materials and articles. The report is by Fabio Macedo and Yves Denéchère from the Laboratoire Temps, Mondes, Sociétés (TEMOS) at the University of Angers.
In addition, prior reports on French intercountry adoption, issued in 1990 and 2008, are also available.
Jenette says
The Korean Truth & Reconciliation Commission is investigating about 300+ adoption fraud cases. Our case is one of the few in the U.S. included in the investigation.
We’d love it if you join Korean Adoptees Worldwide and other adoptee-led groups and individuals in support of the end of child commodification 70 years after the Korean War ended.
We advocate for the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). We are also proponents of inherent, God-given, and natural human rights.
We invite you to join us in our special request to the Korean government. If you want to be included in the list of supporting organizations, reply “Count me in!” button with a logo (representing you or your org). Your logo will be added to the special letter to the Korean government.
Warm regards,
